Ok my grandmas 86 crown vic needs work. She hasnt driven it in two years. It has 200k on it.
The car sounds like a tank. I think the right exhaust header gasket is bad. Also needs a brake power booster. Makes a air hissing sound when applied and goes to the floor. Also needs heater core replaced, tune up, 4 tires, oil pan gasket.. and probably more to get to pass inspection..
A/C dont work. Both pass side windows dont go up or down.

The car looks almost brand new. Its fully loaded.. White color with blue interior.
Trying to figure out if its worth messing with??? Or headed to a junk yard.

Car does run, but shifts hard around 30mph. Figure the trans needs to be flushed.

This is one of those cars that grandma really only drove like 20 miles a week or so...

I will post pics if it stops raining..
I have the tools and know how to fix the car.. Just wondering if i should?

IMHO GO FOR IT!. Try Rock Auto for your parts. They are cheaper even with shipping than most parts houses.

A lot of vehicles are just trashed by people and then thrown away when they get tired of them. The CV is probably one of the best cars Ford has made. Look at all the years and models made.

The CV PIs were basically a Mustang GT Superduty. I've seen many with over 300K miles still running around. Once you've done the work on Grandma's CV, you still have a beautiful, comfortable car to run around in.

It's just a SUPER-DUTY Mustang GT Sedan. 198K miles and still rolling HARD.

1997 Crown Victoria P71 SVT *** ex-US Marshall service (the CAR)
STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos
