just swapped block and heads from a 1995 lincoln towncar and put it in my 1998 crown vic. problem is damn thing wont start. i have spark and fuel. all wiring connections are connected and fluids are installed. it cranks but wont fire. i did get it to fire for about 10 minutes or so, but it idled high as hell and acted like it had a miss. read the codes and it says that the number 7 ignition circuit fault and maf sensor low voltage( po102, po 357) i really need to get this car on the road, anybody have any suggestions? i can send some pics to show the engine. maybe i didnt hook something up? ive checked all the wiring and with the exception of a grey, two prong connector in the front of the engine next to the steering pump resorvior, everything hooked up. help me out guys, ive spent way to much time diagnosing this thing, any ideas? |

just came back in from messin with this thing again. i got it to start, but with the help of starting fluid. then, the worst happened. i had filled the coolant system with water, tap water, just to get the thing started before i spent the money on coolant, and as i was trying to get it to restart, i noticed water leaking from the drivers side area of the head next to the oil cooler. i couldnt tell exactly where it was coming from, the head or the oil cooler. i know water flows from this outlet also, but iam afraid i blew a head gasket. any ideas? i drained the oil, and as far as i could see, no water, but it had a very strong gasoline smell to it. iam at wits end with this motor. also, when i got the motor it had alot of sludge build up on the camshaft and valves, under the valve covers i mean. could this had been a sign of problems? also, has anyone ever heard of water leaking from between the head? ive never seen this so its a mystery to me as to what happen. also, still cant figure out why this thing wont start without cranking so damn much. its takes me cranking on it for 2 to 3 minutes to get it to even sputter, sometimes it doesnt even do that. checking compression tommorrow, i pray for the best. |
