Excursion had a exhaust leak, found a small threaded hole on the back of the drivers side exhaust manifold.I was told this was for the exhaust pressure sensor.I cannot find the sensor listed at any parts or diesel parts web site.Does or has anyone else know anything about this part? |

This was likely the hole for an EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) probe. Does or did your system run an aftermarket product, like a Banks Power system? When installing a Banks System, drilling a hole into the driver's side exhaust manifold is a required step in this process.

I bought this truck 2 years ago used,so I cannot say for sure if it did or did not have any add on systems.I'm going by a Haynes manual that says there is an exhaust pressure sensor in the left side exhaust manifold to control the variable pitch turbo,I'm not sure where this is located but the threaded hole in our manifold is on the lower back side facing at a 45 degree angle.I did not find any wires or any terminals where it would plug in. |

I suggest calling the guys at Thoroughbred Diesel (Winchester, KY). 1-866-737-4966. They have a free help line, and they know diesel. |
