I have a 2004 Excursion PowerStroke with a 4 in. ProComp suspension lift, bought the truck with the lift on it.I am currently having 315/75/16 Firestone tires with Motometal 951 rims put on it.I need to have the computer upgraded for the tire change.I'm thinking of going with the Superchips programmer, does or has anyone done any re-programing?I'm not looking for a bunch of extra power, this Ex is driven by my wife, just looking for opinions on what works best.Do the milage master programmers take power away or add to it or stay the same, seems like this beast wants to lay-down till the turbo is spooled up from a dead stop.It already had a bigger exhaust and K&N fipk kit on it.

I have the Banks Power Big Hoss Bundle, w/ the Banks iQ & Six Gun chip, on my 2005 6.0L Ex. This is a great upgrade for me, I am looking for increased power, without engine block modifications. In fact, I had a hard time getting my mechanic to return it to me after the modification...LOL.

That being said, the Banks iQ recalibrates your new tires to your speedodmeter. It can also be a GPS, music / video player, and overall system monitor. You will have the ability to monitor your engine's gas milage, fuel used etc. If you are looking for the recalibration, without the massive power increase, go for the Banks iQ Economind ( I picked mineup for $988 + free shipping at www.performancetruckproducts.com). This combo will add power when you need it, but it will also increase your fuel economy. You will get the recalibration, with the ability to add some power. The iQ has 6 settings.... so, you or your wife can pick and choose. It is also great for towing too.

You can then, bit by bit, increase your Ex's breathability... Ram Air, Air Intake, Monster Exhaust, Intercooler.... this package can be bought all at once, or bit by bit. All the Banks Power stats are based on recommended breathability upgrades.

I have a superchips Cortex programmer. My truck has never run smoother. and great fuel mileage. I loaned it to my friend on the weekend to install in his 05 F550 and I watched him install it. As soon as he started his truck he looked at me with a big grin and said my truck has never run this smooth on startup ever. I talked to him last nite and he said he was amazed by the difference it made to his truck. He tows a 32 foot gooseneck trailer.

Suprchips is the cheap fix... but if you want the real deal... go with Banks Power... He actually has stats and R&D on his products.... as well as their stats on each make, year and model

Remember, Diesel Engines require a lot of O2 rich cool air... along with a smooth non-restrictive exhaust... that is what makes them run efficiently

If you just want to recalibrate your wheels... get a superchip...

if you want a system that goes well beyond, Get a Banks... you can always build on them...

reality check #1... check an see what other products Superships bulds to make your 6.0L PSD truely efficient... Answer: NONE

reality check #2... they have no stats on any vehicle... just a blurb on "performance by as much as"

neevr buy a generic chip or programmer. A custom is the only way to go. Beans, Tony wildman, PHP, swamps or DP all make custom chips. Prices are comparable and they take into account everything you have done on your truck and safe guard against harming your tranny

I just got the 2000 x with the 7.3 and it had a very slow get up and go. I got the bullydog triple dog and talk about a difference. Now it will walk off and leave most gas burners and still gets around 20 mpg. The shifting gets a little harsh when driving under 45 but just slightly bumps. Got a cold air induction coming for it to help with the cool down of motor. The Bullydog has 4 different settings--Stock, Towing, Performance and extreme,, I have it on performance and was very impressed
