Hello, I\\'m new here and have read all the threads I could find to do with this but couldn\\'t find anything
just like my problem. Maybe someone here can help.

The battery keeps going dead..It may be ok for a week or so and then dead again.

Took the car to a Ford Dealer for this problem because I thought They could find and fix this with no
problems at all...Boy was I wrong. All they did was blame it on the after market remote start, alarm,
keyless entry system I had instaled...So...I took it back to the shop that installed the after market items
and they disconected everything.

They also did a few tests of their own and found that if you open a door there is a drain on the battery
of 2.8 And it stays like that.... OK ...out by the battery is a fuse box that has fuses and relays in it. If you pull the 3rd fuse from the right all the drain on the battery gos away...Also the 1st relay from the right seems to want to stick.

They told me something is making the relay stick and that fuse and relay runs the GEM Module and the radio , inside lighting, etc.

As you can tell I don\\'t have a clue about what to look for or do.....
Can anyone help???
Thanks

Hey 'Enforcer1960'....I'm not an electrician to give any advice....but I would seek a local shop that has a electrical specialist...or check w/friends, craigslist post...etc.

If you are fairly handy around electrical diagrams...maybe get a good electrical manual for you year & model...that's a good start....@least you can use it to support any electrical specialist thoughts & actions.

Hope this helps.

You definitely have a short somewhere....Look trough a wiring diagram for that circuit and trace all the wires. You should find a little bare spot.

Finding shorts are a pain, but need to be researched. Try to find an electrical shop nearby if you don't want to try to find it. As long as you can get it down to which circuit it is that's causing the problem, you have solved about 80 % of it.
