I have a 2000 Crown Vic P71, the car runs great but has one problem. Whenever I'm in 2nd gear and give it a little gas it starts to misfire. But it doesn't seem to misfire when I give it a bit more gas. The check engine light has stayed on for the most part and it flashes when I go up steep hills. I checked the codes on the engine light and it says cylinders 3 and 7 are misfiring. I know it could be a number of things, does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Google the EXACT code you got from the engine. You may be surprised at what the results are for fixing it.

I once got the code for a bad O2 sensor. It turned out to be a vacuum leak. Saved $85..doing a search FIRST.

I appreciate that, but I got the codes for it, 303 and 307 which I was told were cylinder misfires by a guy at autozone. So I'm not really sure where to go from there.

Shawn, I have been learning alot lately.

Take your coils and swap the missing cylinders for ones that are not. If the miss follows Its your coils.

Also same with your injectors.

Alright I will get back to you when I have that done, thanks very much though, something strange happened last night. I started up my car to go home from work and the check engine light had went off. I tried to see if it would misfire but as far as I could tell the car did not misfire the whole drive home?
