I have seen a few threads about older models having the same issue. There was a link to a repair guide and I was wondering if this will work for my 07 or if anything is different...

Also I was thinking about upgrading to a high performance intake manifold and throttle body while I'm in there. Any suggestions?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

BBK makes some throttle bodies that would work, they come in 70 and 75mm but unless you have other upgrades planned they wouldn't be worth it for you. |

Welcome to the forum. You may want to go checkout www.crownvic.net as a great source of information on the CV, GM, and TC. The vendors on their forum are also members and will steer you in the right directions. There are several write-ups about different additions people have made to their own vehicles.
You are lucky. Most of the stuff you need to replace the manifold are readily available, not like it is with those of us with older cars. Modular Depot or ADTR will be able to help you the most.
Using the stock PI "plastic" intake manifold with the metal crossover will help keep some of the engine temperatures down. That's the reason Ford started using them. Those made of aluminum or cast will heat soak an engine. That is why most people only use them for racing.
Unless you go to a supercharger, stay with either a 70mm or 75mm throttle body. Unless you really go the full route, and install headers, bigger mufflers, and bigger pipes, AND install a TRUE CAI, anything bigger than 70mm will cause driveability problems. There is a write-up about this at www.crownvic.net.
The biggest secret to these engines is a good tune, either having it done at a shop or buying a pre-tune from SCT.or American Muscle Bama tune. But these then require you go to to a 91 octane premium fuel. You CAN install a CAI, larger throttle body from a '03 Lincoln Aviator, 2 1/4inch mufflers and pipes, and a 3.55 ratio rear-end, and feel the power without getting a tune.
Here is a couple of websites to check out that will help you.
