my power steering pump was leaking through the plastic part for the plug , the plug was broken off , anyways so i replaced the pump itself and then with out raising the wheels off the ground started the car poured the fluid in then tried steering the wheel , well now the replaced pump is leaking at the same spot and i cant get rid of the air , so now i am wondering if i damaged the pump by not lifting the car first and should have i not started the car before i tried getting rid of the air , thanks in advance |

If you followed the procedure as outlined in the Chilton manual (https://elibrary.mel.org/validate?url=http%3A%2F%2F0-infotrac.galegroup.com.elibrary.mel.org%3A80%2Fitweb%2Flom_accessmich%3Fdb%3DCHLL), you should okay. If not, you have to replace the pump again.

you can get the air out by turning the wheels left and right all the way lock to lock. As far as the leak in the same spot i would double check the area. |
