Bought a 1999 Grand Marquis a couple days ago and is doing the normal air bleed off if it sits more then an hour.. Rather then putting new bags on it and having other problems later I want to just put coil springs on it and be done.. New they show two part numbers for the Marquis and the Vic.. I want to put used coils off another car if I can find a couple but I'm not real sure what springs will interchange between the Marquis and the Vic and what years will interchange.. Anyone know what coils will be a direct fit off of either of the two cars so I can just buy a couple used coils off a donor car.. If the Vic coils will fit would that change the ride height any? Have searched info on this but nothing as far as info on ride height change or really what All year cars will work.. Thanks |

Not sure on the ride height but I looked into this for my 99 Vic a while back. The springs should be identical in fitment but the Police cruiser springs are stronger than the GM or CV civilian springs. From what I could find the ride height was the same but the load for the Police issue springs was approx. 100lbs. more. You can also find kits on feebay for these cars that work well also check out crownvic.net there are some great links to videos that show how to kill the sensors so it doesn't cry about not have enough air in the bags. |

Go to www.crownvic.net and see what has been said about swapping bags to springs. Most depend on the ride QUALITY you want.
