hello, i picked up an old cop car cheap, it was nice, pretty clean, 167,xxx miles, and has 'little issues'. well i cant find any reasoning to these online. heres whats goin on
no turn signals, but 4 ways work, high beams work, wipers work
guy said he was using the a c on the way to meet me and stopped. no heat no a/c, i can hear the doors flipping in the dash but the blowers not kicking in
engine has oil, has no issues, no noises, but the gauge reads NO oil pressure like the gauge is dead. the light bulb is also out behind that gauge and the volt gauge, i would assume burnt bulbs? but what about the reading
the windows work VERY SLOW, the wipers are VERY SLOW, and stop randomly in the middle of the windshield, and can literally be moved manually very easily back to the down position. the alternator is putting out 13.4 volts at idle steady, battery is good, starts everyday. when i turn up the radio, it dims the lights on the face of the aftermaket head unit that looks poorly installed with no adapter
i checked voltage on the battery and alternator, i checked fuses, i checked relays, my dad looked at stuff and didnt have much input (he HATES fords) im assuming the multi function switch is good cuz there isnt much play in it, and high beams work and wipers too.... i dont know
PLEASE HELP

Looks like you bought somebody's headache. But it is all fixable.
Turn signals - probably the blinker relay. Most have only one relay for the turn signals and 4-ways. Some had 2 relays. Get you a copy of the Haynes manual and use the wiring diagram to try to trace it all down. Or it could be the contacts for the turn signal itself.
Blow motor - the fan relay on the blower motor itself is probably burnt. Or it could be the blower motor itself. Either one is removable in the engine compartment. If you replace the motor, replace the relay also.
Oil gauge - First, be sure all the lamps are put in the dash. Some gauges will not work without the lamp being in and working. Or it could be the sensor itself is disconnected or dead. It should be on the driver's side of the coolant crossover next to the thermostat housing.
Windows - If the alternator and battery are good, then it is an obstruction to the window glass. The track could be mis-aligned or that speaker foam is too far in and rubbing against the glass.
Lots of luck and keep us posted. You may also want to go to www.crownvic.net or www.crownvic.ca to look at those forums.

thank you for your reply. i replaced all the relays and went through all the fuses. i replaced the multi function switch as well. nothing changed. the windows all are fine, and i havent checked the gauges. i have to google how to pull them out and get some new bulbs. i hope they are easy fixes. most of my time lately has been peeling off "plasti dip" that was sprayed on the whole car... WHY i dont know. but im almost done. i dont know what to do about the blower or the turn signals. those are my biggest things keeping me from driving it. the wipers are just annoying. i dont think i included that they ALWAYS stop in the middle, where the blades are all the way up. WHY. im banging my head against the wall with this car |

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
i replaced the lighting control module, and the multi function switch. i went through all the relays and fuses. i still have no turn signals, and apperently no reverse lights.
i still have no heat or a.c. at all
i fixed my power steering, it was a rusty u joint on the collum.
i got new lights for the gauge cluster, and it didnt help, i also grabbed a new gauge internals from the bone yard i have to put in yet. i cant find the oil pressure sensor on the hood...
i havent looked into the wipers neither. they still stop at the top, and can be moved down manually
I CANT FIND ANYONE WITH THESE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED BY DOING EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE!! PLEASE HELP |

13.4 sounds kind of low at idle. You should be at about 14.2 unless you have a lot of accesories running. At 13.4 you arent making enough voltage to recharge the system. Check your Alternator and battery connectuons,as well as the battery itself. good luckj |
