I have a 93 crown victoria that I'm in the process of 'fixing/detailing/replacing", you name it. I know little to nothing about cars but I enjoy pulling things apart whether it be interior/engine/exterior. I'm currently working on taking off the fenders (one by one), cutting out rust and treating the existing metal. I do NOT want to buy any replacement parts if I can by any means. I can/will post pictures of step by step processes of what i'm doing (aka, what not to do). I want/need any help or advice when it comes to anything restoration. When i say restoration, i do not mean buying new parts. I want to repair the old part (minus engine parts) with whatever inventive/effective way i can.

Back in the 60s, that is how I learned. Sure, I screwed up a lot not knowing what to do, but talking to others sure helped me get it done right.

Try www.crownvic.net for tons of help and project ideas. Many of the Mustang forums deal with our engines. Use the Internet for research. Use your local library for books to help. (They can probably get you some books they normally don't have.) Buy yourself a copy of the Haynes or Chilton repair manual for your vehicle. Always check out the Clearance section at book stores. (Part of my collection of books and manuals come from those racks.) Make every day a learning process.

I started on the old VW Karmen Ghia as my first car. And worked up the the Peterbylte and Western Star Have fun.
