Hi all
this is my first post here in the forum, happy owner of 2005 grand marquis, with 185xxx Miles and the beast still and Very good condition, i have a noise come from the transmission, i always thought its the transmission mount is going bad, the sound appear when hitting the gas pedal fast to downshift i hear the noise like the tranny is slamming into something or sound like the tranny is not sitting right, i went to the mechanic and i told him to check the tranny mount and universal joint in the driveshaft sometime causing like this issue, but he discovered that the bushing inside the tranny extension is playing and loose, i went to the dealer and the salesman say that the bushing come with complete extension assembly and the rear seal. but the problem there is 3 extension with same part number he don't have any idea which one fit my car, i searched in fordparts.com and i see 3 types i am really confused.

here is a pic for the bushing

My rear seal has been replaced and still leaks. Tranny shop sold me the brass bushing and seal, I guess I'd better get busy and put it in. They said that was maybe my problem. Your right factory FMC doesn't show it to be replacable. I'll need to make a pusher to replace it with.
