Ok, i know this has been said and talked about before but i was so amazed at how EASY this was to do a temporary fix i had to post this--no pics at this time--
1-remove everything from glove box and lower all the way to the floor-push it way down to hold
2-tools needed--- flashlight, 8mm wrench, 2 long screwdrivers, channel locks
3-with car off--turn manual cool/heat to cool
4-look above the glove-box under dash to find white actuator/upper left. Use channel locks to disconnect plug on top of actuator. Unscrew screw and take it out, its the closest one. Wedge screw driver under plug area to lift actuator and leave it in. Use other screw driver to push forward the black plastic cover that holds the metal lever. If it docent move, push just the metal lever under the black plastic until it stops.
5-test a/c without using the manual cool/heat switch..It should blow cold...
I took the wedged screwdriver out and just left the actuator the way it is without putting the screw back in. Just saved a lot of time and money for now, i will do the complete dash remove operation in the future. |
