1977 olds 350r rocket with an isky cam, dynomax headers, catless dual exhaust with 12" glasspacks, edelbrock performer rpm high rise intake, and an edelbrock performer 750 manual choke 4bbl carb, and a few old school tweeks here and there....;) |
Drivetrain: |
th350c tranny out of a 1983 buick lesabre soon to be installed. the factory th200c couldn't handle the rocket 350r, lol, it started slipping really bad on the 1-2 under WOT conditions, sometimes even on the 2-3, but it still took it like a champ up till the motor went. |
Notes: |
this combo ran a fairly impressive mid to low 14 sec 1/4 mile times when i could get it to run properly, i even managed to squeek by with a really high 13 after i pulled most of the interior to see what it could do.
it still needed alot of work though, i think i over-exerted that poor 350r on a daily basis, it didn't last very long after that, cause it spun a rod bearing after about 6 months. i still think that was probably the fastest car i have ever built in my driveway,
now i know it really wasn't that fast, but compared to what it was when it had the stock 307 it was a night and day difference. coulda been faster and prolly more durable if i went with a 350 chevy. but live and learn. |
