mostly stock 302, bored over 0.040, and a cam that allows it to rev quick as sh!t
Currently, it's a two barrel, and i'm going to change all this when i rebuild.
I plan on getting a 4 barrel 550 to 600 CFM carb (not sure what intake to use yet, still confused on the single vs dual plane issue) i am considdering Tri-Y headers, with long collectors, and an H pipe (i want an X pipe, but it makes them sound too much like imports, i've heard) i'm going to put glass pack exhaust that comes out the side just before the rear tires, the list goes on and on... |
Drivetrain: |
the truck is currently a C4 auto that has Park, Neutral, and Reverse. i want to put a 5 or 6 speed manual in there, because i've never seen a manual Ranchero. The rear end is a Stock 9 inch 3.0 to 1 that needs heavy upgrading for my plans. we're talking 3.25 to 1, 31 spline axles, Cross drilled/slotted rotors, the works baby! |
Notes: |
This truck used to be my fathers, when he ran the Fire safety crew at I-70 Speedway in Sedelia, MO. I got the keys to it when i turned 18, and the truck had sat for about 3 years. when i'm done with it, it'll have a 302 kicking out about 400 HP Before NOS or Forced Induction. I don't even know if i'll nos it or not. still debating that and the forced induction.
I delivered pizza in the truck for about a year, getting 8 MPG on the FREEWAY!!! yeah, you can see why i quit that job! i can talk for hours upon hours about this old girl and our adventures together. If you're ever bored, drop me a line... |
