Stock 4.6 SOHC V8.
Planned mods: gutted intake box (removed silencer) and tune-up- new plugs, air filter (possibly a K&N), PCV valve, Seafoam, clean throttle body
My attitude is, it's a cruiser, not a racer... |
Drivetrain: |
Trans- Stock 4R70-W. Fresh Mercon V and updated 1-2 accumulator are all I really have planned at this stage. Will be using the Mark VIII lower spring to firm the shifts up.
Rear- Stock 8.8, open rear, 2.73's. Contemplating a move to 3.27's.
Stock single exhaust, hoping to move up to duals with Magnaflow mufflers. |
Notes: |
Bought from a little old lady in Poughkeepsie, NY in December 2006 for $2350. So far, I am very pleased. It needed two brake lines replaced, but other than that has been a smooth operator.
I've switched it to Motorcraft 5W20 semisynthetic oil, swapped in modded 9005 bulbs for the old 9006 low-beams, cleaned the mass-air sensor, and driven it.
I have some plans for the car in the way of interior customization and mechanical work. |

I think these cars look sharp from the rear 3/4 angle. Here's proof.

Headlights and grille are in phenomenal shape for a Marquis of this vintage.

The odometer days after I bought the car. Low original miles.

Nothin' special here, just Ford's corporate 4.6 SOHC V8 that's been used in everything from Mustangs to F-Series trucks.

Pimpin' red velour interior. The camera flash makes it look lighter than it is. Coming in the Spring- Marauder-style silver accents in place of the fake wood. New stereo and speakers, too. Note no digital dash or electronic climate control- not c...
