the leftover parts! this is what needs to be trimmed to make a tbird rear fit in a mustang. also note that you need to re-use your axles and brakes as the tbird axles are shorter than an SVO axle and longer than a mustang axle and may cause interfere...

fits like a glove! it will work a little easier if you have brake lines from a lincoln mark VII but i just rebent the original SVO lines for now.

fits like a glove. the new shorter mount is just like the original! actually there is a very slight difference in the angle so i did not drill the inner hole until i had the rear in the car and used the shock bushing as a drill guide so it is square ...

here i have trimmed the outside of the bracket and drilled a new hole to mount the quad shock.

before i really started modifying. actually the only difference is you need to remove the original tbird caliper bracket if you are using the stock mustang brakes instead of the tbird discs (mine is an SVO so it already has 5 lug disc brakes instead ...

this is an 88 thunderbird turbo coupe 3.73 trac loc rear end i have installed in my SVO. this will work in all 79-93 mustangs and fox chassis cars. if you want to convert to disc brakes you can use this as is but the tbird axles are a little bit wide...
