1990 Ford Crown Victoria LTD
Owner: raindad
From: Woodstown, NJ, U.S.A.        (Other registries in NJ)
Year, Make, & Model: 1990 Ford Crown Victoria LTD        (Other Ford Crown Victoria LTDs)
Nickname: The Loveboat
Mileage: 275
Engine: Stationwagon. New, factory, 5.0 engine
Drivetrain: New factory AOD transmission, axle bearings and brakes all around.
Notes: Bought as a "beater" for $1000. After driving for two years, the main seals started leaking. At the same time the tranny started to slip. I got an estimate on the cost of new seals, (basically a rebuild), from the local Ford dealer . The cost was not that far from a factory crate engine. So I did the upgrade. I also got a factory rebuilt transmission at the same time. This work was out of my league, so I was happy to have it done. The only other optoin was to buy another car. The work was done in a few days and I got a warranty. It just went out of the factory warranty in May. It's nice having a new car running gear. Now I have a few problems to sort out like the instruments. I plan on going with some new VDO gauges.
