06/02/09 | Repair | | Ordered new wiper/turn signal lever Broke the wiper/turn signal lever off the column when getting into the Jeep. Ordered a new one from Autozone. | 11.65 |
03/28/09 | Repair | | Replaced front upper U-joint Went out to the desert with some friends past Kuna out Swan Falls road. First hill, shifted to 4 wheel drive low, hit the gas, and heard a clunk. The U-Joint harness near the transfer case had lost a bolt, and the U-joint threw both the bearing caps on that end. Removed the driveshaft, and went the rest of the evening in 2 wheel drive. Went back to Jacobs house, his dad took a look at it, then we went to Autozone, bought a replacement U-joint and a spare, and went back. Replaced the U-joint, and bolted it back up using 2 new harnesses to replace the upper two which had bent. | 21.20 |
01/17/09 | Repair | | Fixed radiator hose leak Was driving down the road and saw smoke behind me. Pulled over, and found a hose leaking radiator coolant onto the engine. Waited for it to cool, then topped off the coolant and drove to Kimble's for a replacement. Had him replace the hose and pressure test the system. | 63.10 |
01/08/09 | Repair | | Fixed Brake booster vacuum leak Went out wheeling on the 7th, and a vacuum leak showed up near the brake booster. Fixed it with duct tape to get back to Boise. Went to school the next day, but the tape got wet and cold, so the vacuum leak was worse and the Jeep would not idle. Tried to get parts to fix it, but ended up breaking it entirely, and limped to Kimble's without a brake booster and trying to keep it running by keeping constant pressure on the gas pedal as it would not idle due to the leak. | 164.39 |
01/02/09 | Miscellaneous | | 11 piece torx bit set Pulled on my door handle and it popped out past the stop. Would not return to original position. Had to take the door off and disassemble the latch assembly to fix it. Bought an 11 piece set of Stanley torx bits so I could fix my broken door handle. Also found a rod that was off and returned it to the place it came from, which fixed the broken lock. | 24.26 |

12/26/08 | Fuel | | Added "CRC Guaranteed to Pass" Have to get my emissions tested, so I got some fuel additive in hopes that it will help. | 9.53 |
12/25/08 | Miscellaneous | | Added 102' SS CB whips Was given 2 102 inch Stainless steel CB whips from Radioshack for Christmas ($50). Had to buy all the hardware though. Bought it at the TA travel center truck stop on Broadway. All Diesel brand. The local CB guy they referred me to to ask questions was very helpful. My brother gave me an old CB of my dads, which I found out after installation that it doesn't work. Bought a Galaxy DX 959 CB used from EBay for $124.95 shipped. The meter light is not working, so I will have to have that fixed.
2 6' Springs
2 mini 8 Coax cables
2 mirror mounts (only used the one side, used them to mount them to my rear bumper.)
1 T splitter
1 Microphone holder
roll of 16 gauge wire
20 amp fuses for inline fuse | 240.70 |
12/22/08 | Modification | | Installed 4x4 Posilock Finally got the posilock installed and got the 4 wheel drive working. | 7.40 |
12/07/08 | Modification | | Removed unnecessary parts Took out the old jack from under the hood, removed the horn, which didn't work, and removed the windshield washer fluid bottle, as the windshield washers don't work. This created quite a bit of space, and uncluttered under the hood a little bit. Also made enough space for me to add an air horn later. | 0.00 |
12/06/08 | Repair | | Fixed the radio Finally fixed the radio which I broke last week. Unfortunately had to run it straight from the battery with an inline fuse so I have to turn it on and off and it doesn't turn on and off with the ignition, but it's better than nothing. | 5.50 |
11/27/08 | Repair | | Added stop leak Went to Schucks and bought some Bar's Leaks rear main seal repair (*edit* this leak hopefully fixed 12/30/08 with a new valve cover gasket installed by Kimble Motorsports.) and also some bar's leaks liquid aluminum radiator repair. Got a new funnel. Added both in.
Also attempted to put a new cigarette lighter in so I could charge my phone, didn't turn out so well. I wired it up to the battery and ran it in, put a 20 amp inline blade fuse in, taped it up, worked fine in my hand, took it apart, installed it into the dash, and when I put the ground on the light on the radio flashed on then went off, and now neither the radio nor the cigarette lighter are working. Gonna try and fix it in the morning. | 31.74 |
11/26/08 | Miscellaneous | | added chain to the rear tire carrier Bought 3 feet of coated chain at Ace and looped it through the gas can, tire, and the lock on the jack on my rear bumper so no one can steal them. | 7.39 |
11/24/08 | Modification | | Finished bumper and put it on Finally finished the rear bumper and installed it on the jeep. Bought a jack handle holder for the jack going on and a second D-Shackle at Bucks. Painted it Saturday and Sunday. The 4x4 posi-lock should be in tomorrow and I'll pick it up at lunch. | 43.30 |
11/12/08 | Repair | | Ordered the Posi-lock Went to Bucks after school and ordered an extended cable 4x4 Posi-lock. Should be in next week. | 232.14 |

11/08/08 | Miscellaneous | | Bumper Hardware Bought Grade 8 hardware to attach the bumper to my Jeep, mocked it up tonight. Getting close to finished, all but done just waiting on the spindle from A to Z. | 13.79 |
11/07/08 | Miscellaneous | | Bumper Build Tools Had to buy 2 5 inch grinding blades for the bumper at Sheehans welding supply.
*edit* also had to buy 2 blades for our neighbors grinder to replace the ones we used to finish the bumper when we borrowed his grinder when ours quit.
11/26/08 at KC tool supply | 15.27 |
11/06/08 | Miscellaneous | | Bumper Build Parts Bought some parts for my rear bumper and started working on it. Cut the holes through the blank for the clevis mounts and receiver. Most of my steel is used, so it's saving me a ton there. But it's creating more work with prepping it.
Steel from Pacific recycling
D Shackle from Bucks 4x4
Jerry can mount from Army Navy Surplus. | 91.95 |

11/03/08 | Miscellaneous | | 3/16 in. stick of steel Started assembling steel for rear bumper/swing away spare project. Thankfully a friend got me about a 7 foot piece of good 2x4 by 3/16 in steel that he gave me cheap. Build inspired by this thread.

11/01/08 | Modification | | Made new back seat brackets I got the back seat with the Jeep, but for some reason the brackets were missing. Today I made new ones out of scrap angle iron and pins. They work, although the rear seat doesn't fold and tumble as it's supposed to. Also had the seatbelts, but one of them was missing the end. Had to go to all makes auto salvage and snag one out of a Cherokee. The one I got was grey instead of black, and it was a double ended one instead of the single. So I put it in the middle and the original ones on the side and it works. | 13.03 |
