Original tires were Pirelli Scorpion 33x12.5 R15 LT on aluminum American Racing AR781 wheels (now in garage), currently has 31x10.5 R15 on stock aluminum wheels. |
Notes: |
Bought this from my son-in-law in 2000 so he could afford to buy a new truck to take my daughter to Alaska with him. Have been in the process of restoring it, and restoring it, and restoring it. Body completely restored for the second time in 2012; cut out and replaced all rusted areas, New 1/4 panels and body mounts, doors from a 95 f150, new front fenders, hood from a 86 F250, tail gate from a 95 Bronco. I replaced the grill with a new OEM 1980 grill because I think it looks better without the Blue oval. Also added day running lights and fog lights and put in front seats from a Ford Expedition. |

3G Charging System.jpg 351 hits | 69.41 KB | Posted: 6/6/16 This is a charging system diagram from a 1996 EVTM and is the same as mine, perhaps a little neater looking. The only difference is mine has a 175 Amp Mega fuse where this diagram shows a fusible link
Engine Compartment Relays.jpg 316 hits | 68.67 KB | Posted: 6/6/16 This is a diagram of the relays that have been added in modifying the electrical system and their function. Most are contained in a Under hood relay box with the exception of the light and horn control relays.
Diagram2 Headlight Control Wiring Mod.jpg 317 hits | 41.81 KB | Posted: 6/6/16 This modification eliminates the long wiring path for headlight power which makes them dim and not too effective. With this modification the headlights receive power directly from the battery and use the original high/lo connections as the trigger f...
Diagram1 Under Hood Fusebox assignments.jpg 290 hits | 73.9 KB | Posted: 6/6/16 Added a under hood fuse box in order to eliminate the fusible links that when they fail are hard to find and replace. They also are the cause of electrical fires so this eliminates that possibility also.
Horn Modification.jpg 332 hits | 57.85 KB | Posted: 6/6/16 The original horn wiring was causing a significant voltage drop to the horn due to a long path from the battery over small gauge wire. This gave the horn a real wimpy sound. I modified the wiring by adding a relay that supplied voltage directly from ...
