Engine: I have a stock V8 4.6L 224HP 275 foot lbs of torque Crown Victoria LX. I am the third owner with all records to prove work and value of rims (22") and tires. This a cherry maroon ride that has only a few small imperfections. I still need to shave the fender wells to accomodate the larger size rims with the low profile tires. The engine is very strong running and is very responsive. The transmission does not slip at all and the RWD throttle response is amazing. This baby girl really gives you the G-forces at the starting line, even with the heavy and cumbersome 22" rims. I am very pleased with the overall performance that Ford has done with this big body sedan. Even when there is an excessive amount of weight in the vehicle, more than five passengers, she wakes up and handles the load with no hesitation at all. I plan on purchasing another Crown Vic but this time it will be the Police Intercepter with 5.0L V8 HO engine with intake and possiblly new spark plugs and 4lb pulley. This will be my toy, to cruise undercover and not draw to much attention to myself. And, plus the HO 250HP engine, will do my spirits justice to open up antother beast of vehicle that weighs 4129lbs at the curb.
Drivetrain: I only have the stock RWD with traction control, but, the way this girl acts she wnts to break traction every chance she gets when the accelarator is opened more than half way. She also loves to drift on some lightly wet or oiled surfaces with no qualms at all. On dry pavements, even with precise and leveled pressure on the gas, may just have her break traction around a corner or just givea lite chirp to let you know that she is still awake even though she is purring lighly. I sometimes use the O/D off for more of a little boost and not to have it switch over to highway power for better fuel economy.
Notes: Like I stated previously I am th e third owner. The first owner bought it new in 96 and only put 66,000 on the engine in 6 years. The next owner had the car for 7 years and only put 33,000 miles on it for his length of the ownership. I then purchased it from him with 103,000 miles. Before I bought it the previous owner decided to put my 22" rims and low profile tires on her. He then put a 2000 watt 15" subwoofer in the trunk, and then got a second amp, rated at 1000 watts peak, and got a whole new inside set of tweeters,6x9's, door speakers and a pioneer 450wattx4ch stereo headunit. This is just what this lady needed to set off her swag. Rear 5% tint on the windows keeps umwanted lookers from peering in when at lights or just driving down the road. This is what I call my "BAD BITCH". No offense to anyone reading, but, she has earned the name and wears the badge of honor proudly. This beast of a car is the perfect vehicle to be noticed in!
