Gotta give it to ford, this thing still runs good considering the neglect & abuse from the PO.
Nearly every part I have replaced has been original.
Just made it to 210k WOOHOO! |

Since some folks ask how much fluid comes out of the E4OD pan, I took a picture when I swapped in a punisher valve body.
I installed a drain plug when I last changed the trans filter. I located it on the side of the pan in the center of the magnet....

What the heck do you call this thing?
It's an equalizer! LMC truck sells it for about $12 with shipping.

...And the membrane slides right off the ceramic disk. Pretty sure that's not supposed to do that. condensation was behind it as well as on the outside.

Lifted out the ceramic sensor and circuit board to look at the other side.
The moisture was in there when opened. In fact, water dripped out of it when disconnected from the tubes. I've read this condensation is normal.

not sure if it matters, this one has 4L04 where the other EEC stickers have 4L05.

Drilled out the rivets in my old DPFE.
Correct replacement for this style DPFE is Motorcraft DPFE5 KIT. It is a DPFE15 with a pigtail to replace the connector.
Replacement was about 30-45 minutes. easy to do.

Of note, The convoluted section has been omitted from the new tube design. This was the area that was failing on mine (completely sheared through). Now, it is one solid piece with the internal tube crimped in place, and the DPFE tubes show a somewhat...

apparently, This is not common on the '95 FSB. The Motorcraft replacement is plastic and has a different connector. The tubes are also located differently. So I'm not sure what the correct replacement is.
