(professionally built) Stock 300 Six Cylinder (more power than the 5.0 f-150 i have so don't talk crap about it). Electronically assisted carb. Broken ring in #6 but still runs fine. (don't drive into a dozer pit full of water.. it doesn't work out for the better) |
Drivetrain: |
T-18 borg warner 4- speed "bulldog" and 1356 t-case. (the fun part) 8-lug ttb dana 44 in front with f-250 springs (cheap and flexes like hell) and sterling 10.25 from an 87 f-250. I left the stock rear springs because they're soft. The service brakes are great with the 39.5X15.5R15's (and no i didn't copy dustin seibert.. i didn't know about his until i was finished) roughly 10 inches of lift and no body lift. Another 3.5 inches came from tires (you do the math) I'm 6'4 and it's still a bitch to get into sometimes. Rancho rs 7000's on each corner (duals in front, singles in the rear) Custom-hilljack deluxe steering. Tie rod and drag link were made from 1.5 inch .25 wall tubing with avalanche engineering heim joints (ball joints for newbies... these things are great) Straight tie rod doesn't affect steering enough to notice on-highway. |
Notes: |
351w and 400 in the back yard. I need opinions on which to build. Rockford fosgate 3-way box in the back to replace the lowly 6x9 that came from the factory. (wild animals love metallica at about 105db) Someone tell me what gear ratio that f-250 had so i can have a fun evening of wheeling instead of pulling a diff cover and finding something i don't like. Tried this sucker on a rock pile and broke an axle in my "perfect front-end"(junkyard owner) that had been broken and welded back together and escaped my attention. Pics are on the way. |
