Hard to believe still you could find a bronco with only 62,000 miles on it. Of course some could say it rolled over BUT if you look at the 17 years of registration slips i found in the truck, this truck only saw 11,000 miles in it's first 12 years...lol

Not as hard as you would think it is to get the whole dash off in one piece. The connectors on the other hand are just your typical PITA ford plugs...
1. I removed both side trim peices around the door jamb.. Then removed the fuse cover at the bottom.
2. remove the left plastic lower covering (where the headlamp switch is)
3. removed one screw and removed the right side lower cover (where the 4x4 buttons are)
4. release the steering column knuckle in the engine bay with one bolt
5. removed the two bolts holding the steering wheel column up.
6. i slowly dropped the steering wheel removing all the electric connections & the rim of the wheel sat on the seat.
7. i disconnect the parking brake with 3 bolts.
8. i undid all the electrical connecters on the drivers side kick panel carefully
9. I unplugged all the electrical connecters on the right side kick panel
10. I removed the two bolts under the dash at attached to the firewall.
11. I removed the two bolts on the right side of the dash edge then removed the two bolts on the left side of the dash.
12. then finally removed the four screws across the top that are attached to the firewall.
13. Then i slowly (yeah right) dropped the whole dash on the floor.
14. i unplugged the rest of the wiring harness and vacuum lines.. I did get impatient and just went and snapped one ground wire that was attached to the firewall but over all it was out and i was happy!

Ford had it's crappy cruise in the late 80's

You know for an 80's dash, it's not a bad looking dash. It has the fake woodgrain around the instruments, but it isn't that bad.
