In preparation to get it back on the road for a trip to Hot Springs SuperLift Off-Road Park in June, I'm going to sandblast the bumper, do a little work on it, and try to get it powdercoated. At this point, there's nothing holding it on but gravity & a little friction.

Since it's just bolted on using only the factory frame holes, it's easy for me to remove & install by myself.

This is JUST the bumper beam & the storage boxes. Not bad considering how strong it is. It's survived stalling the winch a few times, a roll, a few accidents, & a few... Umm...

'On purposes'. :-D

This is the whole mess, disassembled & ready to be blasted. The front suspension is up exactly 3/4" now.

*****UPDATE*****
I now have a Ramsey 12Kip worm-drive, which is a little heavier. And I've sold this bumper locally since I've moved to a newer body/frame, and build a new bumper.

Because the price of sand is rising fast, and I have to drive pretty far to get it, I decided to try to reuse it by catching it in a tarp. It worked - I was able to recover more than 90% of the sand & filter it thru a screen to remove the grass that blew onto the tarp.

This fine white sand isn't doing much damage, so I'm switching to "Black Beauty" - a medium grit made in Memphis. It's actually dark green.

National Paint (Elite Powder) did a great job on this for me. This should stand up better than the spray paint I had on it, but I'll be knocking some of it off this weekend in Hot Springs.

I just set the grille guard in place to look at it - I still have to install the winch before I actually attach the guard.

I got the winch back on just before supper, so it was dark when I took this.

Those "diamond-cut" headlights aren't much brighter than this when they're turned on.

They got the powder inside pretty thoroughly. They only missed a few small spots like this, but it's better than I expected.

Everything is back together & working, except the push bumpers. One of them is seriously mangled, and I've never been happy with the rubber on them. So I'll probably leave them off for a while.

A few days after this, I was splitting rocks in Alabama:

The L push bumper is only slightly bent, but I don't want to drive around with just one, which is why it's not powdered, or staying on.

I specifically designed my bumper around the RE12000RX for 2 reasons:
1) it's the biggest winch I'd ever need
2) Ramsey has never offered a bumper that will hold it
