Engine: I used a 391 FT block it has the extra webbing for added strength, had it sonic checked, aligned hone, decked the block, had it bored to 4.17, I debured and polished the inside of the block, I polished the rods and had them shot peened, I reworked the oil valley and blocked off the lifter galleys, I restricted oil to rocker arms, had the rotating assembly balanced. I got custom flat top pistons from Ross Racing (compression is 10.. I installed Comp cam (#33-640-5) dual valve springs and titanium retainers. I'm using 428 CJ heads and a tri-power manifold. Hooker headers and flowmaster exhaust. when we got the 427 hood we wanted 2 inch carb spacers for the tri-power but they were no where to be found so I machined some out of 6 by 6 by 2 inch blocks of .aluminum for each They work out great getting the air cleaner right up in the scoop.
Drivetrain: I rebuilt a C6 transmission it has a 4000 stall speed Coan converter, plus a TCI manual valve body. 9 in Detroit locker with 4.11 gears and Moser 31 spline axles.
Notes: Bought the car in 2/02 I bought and rebuilt the motor and finally got the car on the road in August of 02. Once I got the car going I found many things that needed to be fixed, the wiring was a mess. It was pretty scary driving it till I replaced the steering linkage and front suspension with PST Polygraphite parts. It drives like a new car now. Did sand blasting and painting the engine compartment over the winter of 02/03. Also replaced the floor pans and installing subframe connectors. Wildwood disk brakes were a great addition, stops much better now. Installed Detroit locker with custom 31 spline axles. Just about everything mechanically has been replaced on it. Got the 427 hood in the spring of 04, Also redid the seats spring of 04, looks much better. Now working on the body work.
