Engine: I started with a 90s 5.0 HO block had my local machinist Bore it 30 over, Decked, align honed, and the bore was molley honed. I had to notch the bottom of the cylinder walls to make clearance for the rods. PAW offers a 347 Stoker kit and I upgraded the kit to forged, steel, balanced, Crankshaft, pistons and rods. One problem was that I had the assembly balanced for the later 50oz counter weight, this made a bit of a problem to find Proper flex plate that matches a C6. Bolt on parts list as:
GT40 aluminum heads (M-6049-y303) ported and polished w/ big chevy valves, Ford Raching E303 roller cam + lifters 1.6 ratio roller rockers, Cloys true roller timing kit, Weiand Stealth dual plane manifold, Holley 600cfm, Tuned shorty headers, Proform HEI for ford w/ performace HEI parts, March pully kit.
Drivetrain: Tranny is G on the plate(automatic), axel is 16 on the plate(ford/3750/3.50). I have a new C6 and rebuilt the front and rear axels and steering componets. The front axle is a Dana 44, and the rear is a Ford 9". I'm going to keep them orginal since my wife is going to be driving it and I don't want her to roll it over becuase it's lifted. Might install a locker kit but that's way down the road, gotta get it running first.
Notes: My wife's uncle David bought it new in 1978, and drove it until he stoped driveing a few years ago. He gave it to my wife who gave it to me. It's extreemly straight, paint job is orginal and in very good shape, interior is in excelent shape except for the drives seat and the fake crome trim which is peeling. It's a giant paper weight in my garrage at the moment.

Here is the Intake ports, you can see that they have been opened up aswellas Gasket matched. These ports arnt polished for one simple reason, turbulance is a good thing for intake, you want your fule to Atomize as much as possible. All the porting an...

This is a Photo of one of the exaust ports on the GT40 heads. You can plainly see that it has been Jornal and pocket ported, as well as Polished to a Reflective surface. This is important for exaust ports, dosnt matter for intake.

Finally ponyed(lol) up the cash to buy new distributor, igntion box and coil. Got em on ebay, distributor and box is Procomp, coil is MSD. All three are NIB and unused. Should be able to get this thing started and broke in now.

06/23/10Miscellaneous Stuck for a little while.
I need a diffrent distributor because the HEI hits on one of the journals and cant be timed in correctly. Saving up for the exaust instalation, hopefully soon with in the next year I'll have this on the road. The toyota is taking prioity at the moment becuase it'll get more than 5mpg. Just a practacality thing.

03/09/09Repair Sooo close yet so far.
Spent the afternoon with my brother finishing things up, everything is plumed in and plugged in except for the battery and ground cable. And other than that, the only thing the prevented us from starting it today was that one of my exhaust pipes didn't fit, my brother is taking it to his tube mandrel and going to have it bent to fit tomorrow, only thing is he wont be back down till the end of the month, not like I'm going to have time to do anything till then anyways. I need to find extra work so I can afford to have a custom exhaust put in this thing.

I did solve the shifter problem by just putting in a shifter cable, though I'm still fighting that to fit right. Having problems figuring out exactly how to mount it to my truck, I might say fuck it and just buy a floor shifter kit for it, but that's more money I don't have at the moment.

Any free time I have I'll spend putting the aesthetic and entertainment accesories on it in anticipation of running it soon. Stereo amps, speakers, gauges, wench, I need to price lift kits as well, I remember finding a few that were reasonable. I need to do the exhaust first though.

There are a few minor repairs I need to do aswell, I still havent done the rear breakes, and both diffs are leaking slightly so I'll put it on my list of things to do, I guess I should prioritize that over the
stereo and stuff.

Last of the lose ends:
*new seals and gaskets for my front and read difs.
*Secure Shifter Cable
*Rear Break Cylinders, Springs and Shoes
*Siphon out old gas
*find a shop to install custom exhaust at a reasonable price, or find a premade kit from LMC or something.
*I seem to be missing one of my signal lights
*Install stereo amps and speakers

02/11/09Modification Tieing up the loose ends
Okay, made a trip to ford and picked up the torque converter nuts, turns out I have 16 of these in my "Ford Hardware" box so I'll take back the "Genuine Ford replacement parts" bag of nuts and get my $11 back. I think the TCI flexplate is too thick I cant get a bite on it with the nuts I have. I need to call and ask TCI about this and find out if I need one of their torque converters to make it work.

I'm fighting with the linkage too. Somehow I lost Bracket 7C143 and I can't hook up my shift linkage with out it, I sent out a few feelers out tonight but I bet out of the half dozen places I emailed only Jeff's Bronco Graveyard will have it.

This weekend is valentines day weekend so I probably wont get much time to work on Lazy on Saturday, going to the parents on Sunday. Have RSP drill next weekend, but the last weekend of the month my brother is supposed to come down from Mammoth with his welder and we'll take this mustang exhaust I have in my attic, cut it up and make it work.

I've got the electrical worked out I think, wont know for sure till I have a battery hooked up to it, but because I cut out the air conditioner, the stock ignition system and all the shitty 70's electronics under the hood it's 60's simple now. I got the water system worked out. Still need to plumb in the fuel system, and my fuel filters, as well as the transmission cooler and vacuum.

I'm hoping to have all this done by the last weekend of this month and have it broke in and going down the road by the first of March. I'll be adding some more pictures here soon.

01/30/09Repair almost done
Finally found some mounts that match the block and supports I have, kinda a no brainer. I feel really stupid that I didn't find these earlier. Just for chronicling sake, I got engine mounts for a F-250 4WD with a 302 and they fit perfectly. Anyways, got it bolted up, plumbing it in today, should be ready to break it in tomorrow. Hoooaah!

Had to buy a new creeper, a shit ton of automatic tranny and gear juice and the mounts, I still need to buy the nuts for the torque converter and the engine mounts on the bracket side, I might be able to find them in my hardware pile, idk, we'll see.

Well... The engine supports from www.fordtrucks.com were the exact same supports that I already had for the 351. Going to have to have custom mounts made which is why this project has not been finished. Having a hard time finding a welder that knows how to do this and that I trust enough to do the work.

This stupid truck bankrupted me, and it's still not done haha. Well, someday I'll be driving it, I'm shure gas prices will be like europe though. Hmm, maybe time to put a diesel in this thing? /sigh

FINALY!!! Found a real nice fella that helped me out on some of the hard to find parts! Mainly the Eingine supports for a Wensor block and the Transfer Case Mounting kit. 08/28/04Modification250000Engine assembled
At last! The engine is assembled and is almoast ready for instalation, had to buy hella expensive ARP bolt kit to button it up. Also had to bead blast the brackets and Valve covers. Still trying to hunt down all the EGR and PCV junk and found out the my Weiand Stalth has no EGR support! Also had a problem with a parts order and recived the wrong brass gear for my distributor. Here is the price list. These Items were purchased from a variety of vendors, Jegs, Nortern auto, Summit, Paw, and LMC.

Finaly finished the machine work on the 347 stroker custom, actually made friends with a machenist who helped me finish the motor. Work to date, Heads have been Ported and Pollished by me. Motor Hot tanked, Decked, Rebored to exactly 30 over, Molley ring hone. Align-bored and honed.
Vally smoothed for oil return, New clevit roller cam barrings. New brass freeze plugs. Heads and intake manifold have been matched.
