1971 Ford Mustang
Owner: Todd Hathorne
From: Rio Rancho, NM, U.S.A.        (Other registries in NM)
Year, Make, & Model: 1971 Ford Mustang        (Other Ford Mustangs)
Nickname:
Mileage: 57000
Engine: This car has had 4 good owners and 1 really bad teenager. It is a rebuilt original equipped 429 SCJ. I have replaced rings and pistons. New cam, lifters and rocker arms. The heads are redone. Crank is polished and the engine has been balanced.
Drivetrain: This is a "drag pack" car with 4:11 Detroit Locker rear end. Staggered shocks. Hurst close ratio shifter sitting behind that 429 with a Holley 780 CFM Working Ram Air.
Notes: This car was a daily driver in Michigan for the first 2 years. When the oil crisis hit, the owner put it in a garage on blocks for 4 years. A short period is unaccounted for before the mortgage broker I bought the car from put about $3,000 into the paint. It was spray painted black with spray cans. The rear clip had to be replaced but the body work is above par. The previous owner and I have put over $5,000 into it. The previous owner had a spouse who insisted on the car being moved out of the garage, IN MICHIGAN. The previous owner refused to put it out on the street. Man did I get a deal.
