Nickname: Black Stallion
Mileage:
Engine: 351W, K&N circular filter, 4" high, resting inside an Edelbrock 360 degree intake cover. There also is a K&N foam prefilter installed to keep me from having to clean the inner filter every time I get into mud. I used to have to replace a paper filter every time I wheeled.
Drivetrain: C6 tranny, 4.56 gears, Detroit Locker rear, Powertrax No-Slip front. Plans are to rebuild the engine. I have a set of GT-40 heads, roller rocker arms, and an Edelbrock dual plane intake manifold.
Notes: 6" suspension lift from my friends at Rough Country (800-222-7023). Call, ask for Davy, mention my name & Broncos, and be guaranteed a discount. 37" SSRs, with 15x10 'street locks' from 4 Wheel Parts Performance Center in Memphis, TN. The 'street locks' have the look of bead-locks. They provide extra protection for the bead while rock climbing at low pressure. Unless I go 8 lug, I'll be with these wheels a while. They're great, and the tires are unsurpassed, IMO. They were trued & balanced on the truck. Their highway ride is as smooth as wet glass!
Mods are being done. It's constantly a 'work in progress'. I've completely given up the idea that it ever will be to a point where I will consider it 'finished'. We now have a Warn 12000 winch. We're fuel injected thanks to Howell Engineering. Lift the hood, and it still looks carbureted, BUT IT'S NOT. Also, we've added a set of spring rockers from BC Broncos. I think we're the first Big Bronco to purchase a set from Chuck (888-304-2945). The difference is dramatic! The O.E.M. spring packs with long add-a-leafs and 3" blocks were removed. I replaced them with 4" leaf packs from my friends at Rough Country and Chuck's Spring Rockers. Check out the difference below in the section on 'Spring Rockers'.

LOOK AT THIS: The passenger side 4" spring is under SO much pressure that it is arching in REVERSE. The rocker has pivoted about as FAR as it can go!

From the back, it looks like we just broke our right rear spring! OR, we've just put 30 bags of concrete on the right rear side of the truck! NOT!!!

Black Stallion when he wore AR 39s and a set of BFG AT 33s. The BFGs are now on the Ranger (registry 746), on a different set of AR 39s.
