Removal 
1. Remove two retaining screws at upper outboard end of front bumper cover (17D957) . 
2. Remove two retaining screws at the outboard vertical surface of front bumper cover to front fender (16005) . 
3. Remove six retaining screws at wheel opening flange from front bumper cover to front fenders . 
4. Remove two retaining screws attaching front bumper cover and front fender at lower surface. 
5. Remove two retaining screws attaching front bumper cover and radiator support (16138 ) at lower surface. 
6. Remove four screws and one push pin attaching lower air deflector to radiator support. 
7. Disengage retention tabs on front bumper cover surface from radiator grille opening panel reinforcement (8A284) , push up on tabs and pull front bumper cover forward. 
8. Remove four nuts retaining front bumper (17757) to front bumper isolator and bracket . 
CAUTION: Never apply heat to front bumper isolator and bracket (17754) . Heat could cause material inside front bumper isolator and bracket to expand and leak. Heat may also crack the metal housing. 

Installation
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten front bumper-to-front bumper isolator and bracket retaining nuts to 26-34 Nm (20-25 lb-ft). 
3. Tighten screws retaining lower air deflector to radiator support to 6-8 Nm (54-70 lb-in). 
4. Tighten screws retaining front bumper cover to front bumper to 1.4-2.0 Nm (13-17 lb-in). 
5. Tighten screws retaining front bumper cover to front fender at lower surface to 5-8 Nm (40-70 lb-in). 
6. Tighten screws at wheel opening retaining front bumper cover to front fender to 1-2 Nm (9-17 lb-in). 
7. Tighten screws retaining outboard vertical surface of front bumper cover to front fender to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb-in) for Mercury or 1.4-2 Nm (13-17 lb-in) for Ford. 
8. Tighten screws retaining upper outboard end of front bumper cover to front fender to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb-in).

'98 CV/MGM Bumper and Bumper Cover, Front

Removal
1. Remove two retaining screws at upper outboard end of front bumper cover (17D957) .
