This is the door to a lockbox I'm installing. Yeah, it's a lot heavier than it probably needs to be, but that's me. The box itself will be much lighter (but still overkilled) and large enough to store a few tablets, a few cell phones, a few cameras, a few pistols, a few radios, a few wallets, AND a small purse or 2. It will be watertight, and have forced ventilation to reduce condensation. I'm not saying where it will go, but it will be accessible by all adult occupants of factory seats, and it won't be visible or even apparent. It's not in a location prone to rust or cracks. There is no handle on the door so it can't be pulled - it springs open slightly when unlocked. The door isn't hinged, but it's retained by a guide that allows it to drop fully out of the way for access, and it's easy to remove when open. The lock is relatively cheap, but punching or drilling it won't open the door. There are no exposed fasteners, and drilling the visible welds won't open the door or release the box from the truck.
