i originally used a battery cable to connect the battery to the alternator which deleted the factory fuse-able link. while it worked great it wasn\\'t safe so i installed a 200 amp in-line circuit breaker. i choose 200 in my truck because i have a 130 amp alternator. within a week it tripped for an unknown reason and pressing the reset would only last about a minute which is useless.
i now have replaced it with a 300 amp megafuse. its easier to find a fuse locally than wait a week for a circuit breaker to ship in online. i choose 300amp because i plan on upgrading to a 200 amp alternator in the future
