20170817_175242.jpg After a few voltage checks under load, I realized that there was high resistance at both the alternator output (positive) and case ground (negative).  So I pulled the smog pump & alternator to fix it.

The burned spots on the ring terminal & the alternator output nut (in the red insulator) show that, at some point, this was loose enough to spark & get hot.  Now, it's also corroded slightly.  It all needs to be clean & tight.
