Many times I see people struggling to find the right power steering hose, and they wind up using one that is not designed for these vehicles. This is because the old hose has a flare fitting on the side that attaches to the steering gear. The new hose has an O-ring fitting. The two are not compatible. After a lot of research I found that the needed hose, with the proper fittings, the proper bends, and the proper length will come from a 1997 Ford F-250 Pickup with a 5.8 engine. You can reference the hose in the picture (acquired from Napa, P/N: 7-2941), or use the Gates 353940 for a proper fit.
