vc1.jpg After fixing the brakes, I poured in a bottle of VC1 Coolant Flush, drove around for a few minutes, then hooked up a garden hose to the heater core inlet. I wanted to make sure it got flushed, and I also wanted to see how much coolant the water pump was pushing (to check if the impeller was eroded). So all these pics are with the engine idling. After the water ran clear (middle-right pic), I reconnected the heater hose & jammed the garden hose into the reservoir (bottom pic), which stirred up a fresh supply of orange sediment. After that cleared up (a few times), I pulled the reservoir hose off the lower radiator hose and let it drain overnight. Then I refilled with a bottle of VC8, ~3 gallons of distilled water, & ~3 gallons of regular (NOT long-life or premix) green coolant concentrate.
