kimg0307.jpg safety last? using a 1-ton HF engine hoist to lift the entire back of a truck is not exactly safe but it is very effective for doing it quick. i avoided being under the truck as much as possible trying to stay as save as possible.

i unbolted the axle completely before lifting the truck but left the tires on. once lifted high enough i jsut rolled the old axle behind the truck. i used a rope to drag the new axle under it. then lowered the truck on the new axle enough to bolt it up loosely. i then raised it up to put jackstands under the axle

it took me about 3 hours to do the complete swap, alot of the time measuring the new axle to make sure it is centered and pinion angled correctly
