This new (old stock) MotorCraft SW-5063 (Ford F5TZ-7A247-B) Manual Lever Position Switch (MLPS) is the original design for a '97 E4OD, with only 8 pins in an 8-position connector.

I read the date code as March 06 of a year ending in "5". The yellowed tape on the box suggests it's NOT 2015, so either 2005 or 1995.
