mouldingfix.jpg The bodyside mouldings are getting so old that they're hardening & curling, peeling themselves away. This one nearly came off on a long trip - it was hanging by a couple of inches when I got out at home. So I pulled it off & set it out in the sun so that it would curve the other way in the heat for a week, and then left it braced in that position as it cooled for several more days. Meanwhile, I used brake cleaner & a SpitzNagel ("sharp fingernail" plastic scraping tool) to remove the residue from the truck (same that were used to remove it from the moulding already) then cleaned the paint thoroughly. When the moulding was ready, I applied outdoor double-stick 3M foam tape and put it back on.
