Step 3:

Removing the thermostatic fan will require a pulley wrench. You can get these vehicle specific but I opted to get the universoal wrench so I can use it on other vehicles. The universal wrench is a PITA to use but worth the aggravation to be able to use it on more than one type of vehicle.

Set the pulley wrench across 2 pulley bolts and then use an adjustable wrench on the fan to loosen it. You might need a few taps with a rubber mallet to break the locktite free.
