i have now verified what will and will not work. bucket seat brackets from a 65-72 ford pickup will bolt into any regular cab 1965 to 1979 and will allow the use of many late model ford seats. i have verified that the floors in supercabs are significantly different than a regular cab but are the same as a 78/9 bronco. i mounted the bronco seat brackets into Big Ed today and all i had to do was drill the two holes on the inside of the drivers seat (the outer used the same holes as the bench seat) and i had to drill three holes for the passenger seat. (the passenger bracket is one piece and you just mount the outer front bolt and then drill the other three. it was very easy). i used 88 bronco seats on the 78/9 brackets and it all bolted right together (the 80 up seat brackets won't fit anything!). the really nice part is the bronco passenger seat mount tips forward and gets the whole seat out of the way for access to the back seat. hope this is usefull info for anybody out there with the same questions i had a few months ago.
