The headliner is painted & installed. This is an aftermarket one, and its quality leaves something to be desired. It's shipped rolled, and the creases weren't formed well enough. The board almost broke when the edges were folded down for installation. The predrilled screw holes in the aluminum strip aren't symmetric. It was only available in a dull gray, requiring painting it this color (ultra-flat tan). From certain angles, the paint is splotchy.
