The passenger floorboard got uncomfortably hot this past summer, making the A/C nearly useless. So in addition to the small stainless shields on the body & pipes, this self-adhesive padding should reflect most of the exhaust heat down & away.
The '88 cruise control VSS is visible at the top L, with the '88 speedo cable attached. It works perfectly, even though the cable doesn't latch onto the eB speedo - it's just slipped in and stays because of the cable routing.
