Even with the sealant below the hinge, water was still getting behind the hinge from the top, and building up in the trough high enough to spill over behind the dash (because the ends of the hinge were sealed). So I cleaned out some of the sealant from the ends & added a bead above the hinge. There's one more leak above the radio that will have to dry before I can seal it. It's a rust hole that wasn't filled correctly during the initial restoration in NC.
