dscf0029.jpg This is the block as I received it. It had 3 sleeves, oil pump mounting pad was BRAZED back on, etc.... Undoubtedly the most f--ked up engine build I have seen in my 50 years of building engines. Block deck was 10.132" on one end & 10.147" on the other side, it ran about .007" more on each end. Looked like it was honed with a brake hone, pistons stuck ABOVE deck .004" to .012" on one side & .018" to .032" on the other side, wall clearance ran .0014" to .0045". Rings & bearings were not prepped or lapped, ring end gap was out of the box. Heads were an even bigger joke, chambers were about 65 cc's. the CR actually measured out to about 12.8, valves sunk so deep you needed a diving suit to find the lapping, TRIPLE springs with spring seats, raised retainers & lash caps so the rocker arm could contact the stem, almost 200 # seat pressure on a mild Comp hyd flat tappet. Several lobes wiped & most all lifters would hold a pint of water they were cupped so bad, chain had over 1" side movement. It had a 1UB 428 SCJ crank which had the crap cut out of it & then several slugs of Mallory added to convert it to an internallly balanced crank, a real piece of s--t.
The owner of this creampuff turned out to be the absolute worst A-SHOLE that I have met in my 50 years of building, he destroyed my record of dealing "ONLY" with people that I want & like to do business with. Wish to God I had gone with my gut feeling & told him to F--K off when he first called !!!!!!! Live & learn, I guess....
