blue-rose-001.jpg Pictures from here to the end are from the 2nd round of renovation in which I took more time to get it looking better and the way I wanted it to be. The first round was more of a quick and dirty to slow down the rust process.

Finally after the second round of renovation, Spring of 2009 through the Fall of 2010, Rosie is completed and painted in the color scheme I decided on in the Spring of 2010. This time instead of just patching holes, all of the outside sheet metal has been replaced with the exception of the cab. The cap was sanded to remove the popcorn finish surface originally put on by Ford and painted to match the cab roof and lower paint color. The two colors are both official Ford paint colors. The blue is paint code 3P (Medium Blue Metallic) and the Gray is paint code CX (Shadow Gray). These are late 90's colors for Ford trucks and SUVs.

The reason for calling both periods of body work a renovation rather than a restoration, is that I did not return the truck to what it would have looked like off the dealer floor. Instead, I picked some things from various years that I just liked or felt was an improvement to include in the renovation. In some cases it was just because that is what my favorite auto parts recycling yard had that was in perfect condition and better than what I had. So this is certainly the "Bride of Frankintruck".

Things like an 87 hood cowling, a hood from a F250, doors off a 92 F150, tail gate off a 94, rear 20 inches off a 95 with exception of 1/4 panels, Over head console from a 96, front seats from an Excursion, front fenders from a 86, new 1/4 panels from LMC truck, dash from a 82 F150, adjustable steering column and cruise control from a 85, interior tire carrier, interior trim panels from a 94, Cab and Cap liner from a 95, rocker panels, replaced driver side floor panels, replaced rear tub support and tail gate support, body mounts, etc., etc. a lot of the work can be seen in the other files here.
