a6-compressor-bracket-005.jpg These are the two different A6 A/C compressor brackets used on Ford/Lincoln/Mercury full/mid size cars of the 70's. I seen a different bracket used for a '72 Lincoln Contiental("C" style) and a '76 Mercury Grand Marquis("circle" style of A/C mounting bracket). The "C" style bracket also came on the '75 & '76 Thunderbird with the Saginaw/A6 engine bracket plate. The "C" bracket allows the A6 compressor to be mounted about 1/2-3/4" further forward allowing it to miss the driver's side frame/front upper A arm as compared to the full "circle" style of mount. The '75-'76 T-bird frame is set-up just like the 70's vintage Torino, Elite, Cougar, Ranchero, T-birds and the Lincoln Mark series.
