You can seed the distance I had to move the spring perch forward to take out the excess frame material from the '79. Rather than cut the frame in the middle and reattach it with butt welds or even splice welds, I just hacked off the back pieces that were too much. The axler would not hit the wierd frame humps regardless of how much it was articulated, so I saw no point in making more work for myself
