Notes: |
This Bronco is currently my only vehicle, so it must serve reliably as a "daily driver".My focus since purchasing it in August of '99 been to make only those modifications that will add to its overall performance, reliability, and fuel efficiency.
It must serve for both work and recreational uses. For work, it must start every time and average 12,000 miles each year in a mix of highway and suburban driving. I work in real estate, and I specialize in "unimproved" properties, so I need it to handle occasional off-road duty.
Since purchasing a heavy duty utility trailer, I have up to 2200 lbs. and 4' X 8' of carrying capacity when I need it.
This past August, I purchased a well-cared-for Scamp 13' travel/camping trailer. This is as much weight (1500#)as I plan to tow for any distance. This trailer is nearly as short as the Bronco and is very maneuverable. I plan to be able to get into lots of places where trailers are seldom seen... sort of the RV equivilent of back packing. |
